Open Water
Ever wonder what all the fuss is about when you see divers’ heads break through the surface of the water with big smiles on their faces and all of a sudden they just start jabbering gibberish about this fish, that nudibranch, how colourful the starfish were and how delicate the seahorses are. You name it, they saw it, now everyone has to hear about it.
There is no way of describing in words what you see, feel and experience when diving on a reef for the first time, it takes your breath away, that being one of the best things about diving, it happens over and over again as every dive is different with an awesome new experience. The ocean is a whole world of amazing creatures, corals and mammals all on its own.
It’s not only diving in the ocean that gives you pleasure but our unique inland dive sites such as Wondergat being 1 of 2 places in the world with living fossils in the overhangs, Marico Oog diving in water as clear as your bath tub with water lily’s’ blossoming all round you and fresh water shrimp dancing around in the light of your torch. This is why we divers dive, to experience these unique opportunities that nature has to provide.
For the parents who wish to drown out the noise of nagging teens, crying babies and hear nothing but the sound of your bubbles and experience peace and quiet for those few minutes that feel like gold or to the more extreme that are looking for that adrenalin rush, well there’s the sharks. There is no way I am even going to begin to try explain the feelings on this one because it is always a WOW mouth watering experience.
So for whatever reason it is you want to take up diving all I can say it’s an addictive sport which will have you coming back for more.
The best thing about diving is it is for everybody young, old, families, singles you name it as we do everything from diving to 4x4ing on trips to general social gatherings, making new friends, but it never just remains about diving it’s an all outdoor experience.
So come and learn to dive today and start enjoying the sweet tasting pleasures of life…
